MINUTES OF THE ISLAND VILLAGE CONDOMINIUM ASSOCIATION
BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
HELD TUESDAY, JANUARY 15, 2019

Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order by Jim Thomas at 3:05pm.

Establish Quorum of Directors:
Jim Thomas, Dennis Tishken, Ronda Rogers, Roseann Simcox and Mary Touris were present in order to establish a quorum. Kathy Watts represented management.

Approval of Minutes from the December 4, 2018 Organizational Meetings:
Mary Touris made a motion to approve the minutes of the December 4, 2018 Organizational meeting as written. Ronda Rogers seconded the motion and the motion passed by unanimous voice vote.

Unfinished Business:
Action Without A Meeting: Ronda Rogers made a motion to accept the Action Without A Meeting determination and accepting the final proposal regarding the issue with 2137 N Courtenay Parkway. A check for $10,000 less recording costs was accepted from Perrone/Ricard. $4,564.86 will reimburse the association for legal fees and the balance will be deposited into the Lake & Grounds account. Roseann Simcox seconded the motion and the motion passed by unanimous voice vote.

New Business:
Planting on limited common areas: After discussing the issue, Ronda Rogers made a motion to discontinue the practice of the Association taking responsibility for the plantings on the first floor limited common areas outside the unit’s front doors. Mary Touris seconded the motion and the motion passed by unanimous voice vote.
Bike Rack: There has been a request for a bike rack to be placed inside the storage area. The Board was given a price list for different sizes of bike racks for review.
Keith’s Responsibilities: Keith is an independent contractor and has specific duties for the complex which have been set by the Board. His duties include clubhouse setup for HOA functions. Private party clubhouse setup may be contracted with Keith for whatever financial arrangements the two parties decide; as well as any other owner request for special services.

Social Committee:
Roseann Simcox, Social Committee Chairperson, made the following report: On December 14, 2018, Island Village Condominium Association served up a beautiful, successful Christmas dinner of which approximately 40 residents attended. It was heartwarming to see so many old friends stay and socialize. The social committee is excited regarding the coming year.

- The social committee is excited regarding the coming year. The committee is comprised of many owners and renters. Mary Stillwell, Johanne Lee, Terry Colaiacovo, Ronda Rodgers, Carol Snyder, Valdeci Deleasandro , Irma Spaar, Val Puleo and myself.

We welcome anyone who would like to join and contribute in any way. No contribution is too small and all are appreciated.

The 2019 gatherings are as follows:

*January 26th “Regift” party 5 PM
*March 16th Saint Patrick’s get together 5 PM ,Corned beef & cabbage will be served including dessert $5.00
*July 6th Hawaiian luau, 5 PM
*October 12th October Fest, 5 PM , German food and dessert served, to be determined $5.00
*December 14th 2019 Christmas dinner, 5 PM.

I’m hoping that you will look forward to the future parties and contribute in any small way. For example; if you are aware of a neighbor in your building that is a shut in, please when you attend, bring back a plate, let them know they are thought of and remembered. We always have extra and love to share.

Announcement:
-Kathy reported that new resident lists will be provided quarterly. Either contact a Board member or attend a meeting for a hard copy or email management and one will be emailed to you.

Next Meeting:
The next meeting will be February 19, 2019 at 3:00pm in the clubhouse.

With no further business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 3:40pm.
