Board Meeting Eau Gallie Public Library Saturday, September 13, 2014
Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order at 1:00 pm by President Rob Ellison.
In attendance were Treasurer William Morrison, and Secretary Diane
Janowsky and Property Manager Kathy Watts of Dragon Property Management.
Pauline Lewis and Scarlett Huber were absent.
Mailing to Homeowners: A motion was made to approve the 2015 Proposed Budget for mailing to homeowners by William Morrison, seconded by Diane Janowsky, and approved by unanimous vote. It was noted that the budget would stay the same as it was last year.
Included with mailing of the 2015 Proposed Budget is a letter from the HOA's lawyer, John L. Soileau, outlining the Board's policy that they will insure close compliance of our documents regarding violations and the fining and/or legal action process. A motion was made to approve the letter. The motion was seconded and approved by unanimous vote. It was mentioned that there are a series of 3 notification letters mailed a homeowner before the fining and/or legal action begins due to a lack of homeowner correction or response. Also included with the mailing will be the Fall 2014 Newsletter noting that the next Community Yard Sale will be held October 25, 2014.
Drainage Ditch: The drainage ditch running along the back of the houses on Cape Palos Drive and doing an elbow turn to foot the back of the townhouses has begun to be populated with plants such as reeds, duck weed, etc. growing in the standing water. The question was raised about dredging to remove them as they may block off the flow of our development's run-off water. The Property Manager will contact Aquatic Systems to inspect the area. It may be that weed killer could be applied to the plants.
Next Meeting: It will be the Annual Budget Meeting at the Crossroads Church (Corner of Lake Washington & Croton) at 6:30 on October 20, 2014.
A motion was made to adjourn the meeting at 1:52 pm by Diane Janowsky,
seconded by Rob Ellison, and approved by unanimous vote.
