Crossroads Community Church Monday, October 20, 2014
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 6:30 by President Rob Ellison. Also present were Vice President Scarlett Huber, Treasurer Bill Morrison, Secretary Diane Janowsky, Director Pauline Lewis, and Kathy Watts of Dragon Property Management.
Approval of Minutes:
Bill Morrison made a motion to approve the September 13, 2014 meeting which
was seconded by Diane Janowsky
Annual Budget: Bill Morrison made a motion to approve the 2015 Proposed Budget mailed out to homeowners last month. It was seconded by Diane Janowsky with majority vote approval. There was one nay vote.
Garage Sale: It was decided that our semi-annual garage sale set for Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014 would not need a reminder sign to control traffic flow. Garage Sale signs have been placed on Stewart Road.
Drainage Ditch Behind Cape Palos Drive and the DR Horton Townhouses: Plant life growing there, mentioned at the last meeting, has grown to cover large areas of the ditch. There is also standing water inside of the pond weir pipe and that could be a mosquito breeding ground. Flooding is also a concern. It appears that plant life is so proliferate that spraying would not solve the problem.
It was mentioned that at one point the town came and dredged it out. Scarlett Huber will see what she can do to get authorities to come out and look at the area to solve the problem or at least put us on a waiting list.
The Property Manager was asked to contact Management of the DR Horton Townhouses to determine when the development will be turned over to the Homeowners Association so that a joint meeting can be set up to discuss common drainage ditch areas.
Swale Palm Trees: The Property Manager sent letters the previous week to homeowners who need to have their palm trees trimmed.
Grounds Maintenance: Scarlett stated she would contact our vendor, Barto's Lawn Service, for a quote on laying down mulch on the Stewart Road areas and the entrance way. He will be also asked to plant two shrubs in the bare area next to the townhouses on Steward Road.
Weir Grate: The Property Manager presented a photo from Gary Ribbink of Aquatics Systems of the weir grate situated on the Cape Palos pond side showing it has rusted away. As this weir should only be underwater during temporary high water conditions, he suspects downstream drainage problems. As the grate is a safety measure, the Property Manager will contact vendors for a replacement.
Entrance Sign: It was mentioned that the sign needs some tender loving care as paint is flaking off and it has some black splotches on it. This needs to be attended to in the near future.
Next Meeting: Annual Meeting at Eau Gallie Public Library tentatively set for March 23, 2015.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:15 by President Rob Ellison.
